Celebrating the Women and Girls in Science Day

The International Day of Women and Girls in Science is the 11th day of February, by resolution of the United Nations General Assembly on 22 December 2015. Since then the global community has been inspiring and engaging women and girls in science. The day recognizes the critical role women and girls play in science and technology and its purpose is to promote full and equal access to participation in science.

The International Day of Women and Girls in Science is implemented by UNESCO and UN Women, in collaboration with other intergovernmental agencies and institutions. Gender equality should be considered as a crucial means to promote scientific and technological excellence. Science and gender equality are both vital for the achievement of the internationally agreed development goals, including the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Wishing all Women and Girls lots of strength, courage, self-confidence and success in their work!
